Community United Methodist Church (434 Lewis St.) is hosting a community vigil at 4 p.m. on Sunday

From the church's announcement: 

This gathering is open to everyone — ALL are welcome.

This is not a religious service, but a space for prayer, meditation, silence, reflection, and solidarity. You are welcome to come exactly as you are, whether you identify as religious, spiritual, both, or neither.

We do not support violence, nor the movements that embolden those to act violently in the name of patriotism. We reject fascism and white evangelical nationalism, and we stand for dignity, justice, and the sacred worth of ALL people.

Come be in community with us as we hold grief, hope, and resistance together.
